What is sent

For each page you open: its address and title, the page that sent you here, your browser and device type, screen size, language and time zone. When you leave a page, the time it was open and how far down you scrolled are sent too. If a page hits a script error, the error message and where in the code it happened are sent as well.

While you play, a few moments are added: starting or continuing the game, starting and finishing a chapter, the reading you choose at each READ, and any error the game runs into, with its message.

What stays here

Your saves, your settings and anything you type stay in this browser and are never sent. Nothing records the screen. The feedback sheet is a file, and sharing it is up to you.

Your IP address

PostHog uses your IP address and browser details, together with a key that changes every day, to make a visitor ID for that day. The address is dropped before anything is stored. The daily key is deleted within a few days, and after that the ID cannot be turned back into your IP address.

Where it goes

The counts go to PostHog Cloud in the United States and are kept for up to one year. yolfez.com is counted the same way in the same place, so visiting both from the same browser on the same day counts as one visitor.

Cloudflare, which serves this site, also counts page loads with its own Web Analytics, which sets no cookies either.

Turning it off

If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, neither the site nor the game loads PostHog. Cloudflare's own count still runs.
